Required documents and verification process for businesses in Malaysia
Verifying a Malaysia-Registered Business
Businesses registered in Malaysia can verify their HitPay account by completing both identity and document verification steps.
Verification Process
Identity Verification
The account representative must complete:
- ID verification
- A selfie submission for facial match
This step is required after setting up your bank account.
Document Verification
You’ll need to submit the following:
- SSM Business Profile
(or Business License for Sabah-based businesses not registered with SSM)
If the account representative is not listed in the SSM document, include:
- A signed Letter of Authorisation (LOA) from a company secretary or director
- Identification documents (with signature, e.g., passport) for:
- The account representative
- The person signing the LOA
Additional documents may be requested by our Compliance team based on your business type.
Common Additional Requirements
Some business types may need to submit more documentation:
- Complex ownership structures → Provide a detailed Beneficial Ownership Structure
- Regulated industries → Submit relevant licenses, such as:
- Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) license – for travel agencies
- Medical Device Authority (MDA) license – for medical device businesses
Missing or incomplete documents may delay your onboarding.
Bank Account Requirements
- Companies and LLPs must use a corporate bank account to receive payouts.
- Sole Proprietors may use a personal bank account registered under the owner’s name.
Ensure the bank account name matches the business or owner’s registered name.
