# Cross-Border Payments

HitPay offers multiple ways to accept payments from international customers. The right product depends on where you're selling and how you want to price.

  <Accordion title="What fees apply to cross-border payments?">
    A **1% FX markup** is applied on top of the mid-market rate when HitPay handles the currency conversion (Borderless QR and Adaptive Pricing). Standard payment processing fees also apply.

    For Multi-Currency Products and Multi-Currency Payment Links, you set the price directly in the customer's currency — no automatic FX conversion is applied by HitPay.

    Customers are not charged any additional FX fees.

  <Accordion title="How is the exchange rate determined?">
    HitPay uses the **mid-market exchange rate**, plus a 1% markup. The rate is refreshed daily at **6:00 AM SGT** and cached for the rest of the day — so all transactions, settlements, and refunds processed within the same day use the same rate.

  <Accordion title="When do I receive my payout?">
    Cross-border payments are credited to your HitPay Balance on a **T+1 calendar day** basis. The collected amount is automatically converted to your home currency and included in your daily payout.

  <Accordion title="How do refunds work for cross-border payments?">
    The refund is issued in the charge currency. The amount deducted from your home currency wallet is converted at the **live exchange rate at the time of refund** — not the rate from the original transaction. This means you may experience a small FX gain or loss depending on how rates have moved.

  <Accordion title="How do I enable cross-border payment methods?">
    Go to **Settings > Payment Methods**, click **Connect** on the desired payment method and complete the required information. Partner providers review new requests within 3–5 business days.

    Once activated, go to **Integrations**, select your integration, and enable the payment methods for that sales channel.

    No. Borderless QR and Multi-Currency Products work with the existing HitPay POS app. No additional hardware is required.
